It’s the end of the day at Dover Castle, and everyone has gone home – or have they?
Given that Dover Castle’s turbulent past stretches back over 2,000 years, it’s no surprise that the castle is considered to be one of England’s most haunted. The atmospheric site in Kent has certainly produced a spine-tingling tale or two over the years, with some of the most chilling involving the apparition of a mysterious lady in red, and the tragic figure of a Napoleonic drummer boy.
Visitors have also reported strange sightings in the Secret Wartime Tunnels, like the ghostly figure of a man dressed in military uniform, and hearing the eerie echoes of slamming doors, typewriters and running boots…
